View Full Version : L.A. 3/12 - Another Photoshoot!

It's like dejavu.

First off, I have to say that I finally got rid of a "6 straight days stripe"!

Got to my pre-morning AO around 7am to be greeted by AWESOME conditions. Hardly any big waves, with nothing over 2 or 3 feet, I think. No wind, sunny, no salad, just before high tide. I thought man, if I get skunked today, I would be really upset.

With the mindset of catching ANYTHING, I went light today, with 4 lb mono, 1/4 oz egg sinker on a C-rig and crack. How would I NOT catch even something small right?

Well I was correct. After about 15 minutes of walking the beach, I finally find a very pronounced trough and sure enough, the skunk spell was broken, even if it was a little guy!

But THEN, after 5 minutes, here we go! Mind you, almost the entire beach is empty, it's 7 in the morning, and SHE shows up... With her photo shoot crew. AGAIN (different girl though)!! Some of you might have read one of my first reports in January, and if you recall, there was a swimsuit photoshoot at the same spot, blocking my fishing hole. This was a better photoshoot I thought, with a different girl, and this time she was trying to catch some waves.

Anyway, she is about 25 feet to the right of me which was OKAY BY ME :)

Back to the report. I cast in the trough again, and BOOM, another dink. YES.

Now, this pretty lady starts drifting in front of me. How can she do that? (it's fine by the way). So I snap some more shots, not giving a s**** like the paparazzi haha.

The funny thing is that I had just cast my line out and since she drifted by, I didn't bother reeling it in. Do you blame me? I had to get my phone out of my pocket. While I take the shot, I get another bite hahaha!

To prove her proximity to me, this shot was taken straight in front of me, perpendicular to the edge of the water.

Well, by then, I just had to wait. There was no point in walking around, because this was MY hole dang it. After another 10 minutes or so of me enjoying the scenery, I watch her get out of the water and return to her crew which was right next to me.

All in all, despite the traffic this morning and skunking for 6 days in a row, I think these tiny fish and the lone surfer made me forget about the gigantic stripe I had on my back.

That's what I call double good luck!:)

I can understand the pictures of the surfer. Just in case someone was to get tangled in the line or hit by the board you would be covered!

Safety always first then fishing....
