Lightbulb Dont throw away those old rubber core sinkers

I was going through my old tuna tackle and came across some old rubber core sinkers that the rubber insert was missing or had broken. So I though to myself how can I give these useless rubber core a second life? Why not turn them into egg sinkers and here how.
Remove the old rubber and insert a plastic straw to size of hole, flange the ends with a lighter or match then close the gap of the weight with a pair of pliers and your ready to go fishing.
The advantage of using these converted weighs is in the casting because they are more aerodynamic
    they fly farther. IMG_20150711_084909.jpg
    good luck

Another innovation from the "man" Tunamaster !! Great idea.

I was just discussing this idea with another angler who I saw was using a sliding sinker that look like a flattened egg sinker. He told me that he took out the rubber in the middle of the sinker and hammered down the gap and came out to be ... VOILA !!!! the same idea as yours. I was amazed is how it does fly out much further than my egg sinker. OR it could be my casting.

Anyway ..that is a magnificent idea...

That's a great idea! May even roll less on the bottom because they are longer. Also, gives you some good choices on weight.
