ASBURY PARK, New Jersey, Thursday, December 1, 2022 – The East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame has announced the launch of the process for determining the surfers who will make up the Class of 2024. Co-founded in 1995 by legends Cecil Lear and Greg “Da Bull” Noll, the Hall of Fame has inducted 177 East Coast legends during the past 27 years and will induct 10 more in 2024.
The greatest legends of East Coast Surfing have been inducted in the biennial ceremony held in the even years during the January Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida. Some of the well-known surfers who have been inducted include: Mimi Munro (’96), Bill Yerkes (’98), Ricky Rasmussen (2000), Linda Davoli (’02), Pete Dooley (’04), Frieda Zamba (’06), Lisa Andersen (’08), Scott McCranels (’10), Sean Slater (’12), Dean Randazzo (’14), Corey Lopez (’16), Kevin Grondin (’18), Bobby Owens (’20) and Jeannie Chesser (’22).
The Class of 2024 selection process begins with the opportunity for the general public to submit candidates for consideration. Applications are available on www.eastcoastsurfinghalloffame.org, where the criteria and transparent process are detailed.

The East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the preservation of the history and heritage of East Coast Surfing by enshrining forever the people who have been responsible for surfing’s development and growth on the US East Coast. The ECSHOF was founded in 1996 by one of surfing’s truly great watermen, Greg Noll, along with East Coast legend, Cecil Lear. Every two years, the ECSHOF conducts a public candidate submission process, followed by a thorough nomination and selection process to determine the next ECSHOF Inductees.
